GrubScout started by mapping public vendor information across Tampa Bay and Orlando so hungry people could discover mobile food faster. That means your truck might already have a page — even if you didn’t create it.
Why claiming matters
- You control photos, menu, hours, and links
- You can keep the map pin honest
- Customers stop messaging “are you open?” into the void
- Claimed profiles are the foundation for featured placement later
Steps
- Go to List Your Business
- Search your business name
- If you find it, claim/connect it to your account
- If not, create a free Basic listing
- Add logo, 3+ food photos, cuisine, and service area
- Set hours you can actually keep
Then test the customer path: search your name on search and open your public page like a stranger would.
What a complete listing looks like
Customers decide in seconds. A listing that answers their first questions without a click wins more visits. Aim for all of these:
- Accurate business name and cuisine: use the name on your truck so people recognize you in person.
- Logo plus real food photos: at least three bright, current photos of what you actually serve.
- A short description: two or three sentences on what you serve, what you are known for, and where you usually operate.
- Service area and map pin: your home base or the area you serve most, so you appear in nearby searches.
- Hours and upcoming stops: even a simple weekly pattern ("Tue and Thu lunch in Westshore") helps.
- Links: website, online ordering, Instagram, and Facebook, so customers can check today's location.
- Menu images: a clear photo or PDF of your current menu, ideally with prices.
Keeping it accurate after you claim
A claimed listing is only useful if it stays current. Set a reminder to review your profile at least once a month and any time you change your menu, prices, service area, or regular stops. If you take a seasonal break or close for repairs, update your hours so customers are not left guessing. Accurate profiles build trust, and trust turns first-time customers into regulars.
Common issues and how to fix them
- Wrong pin or address: update your location in the vendor dashboard. If you cannot, contact us and we will help.
- Duplicate listings: businesses sometimes appear twice from different public sources. Claim one and let us know about the duplicate so we can merge or remove it.
- Your business closed or changed names: tell us through the contact form with the topic "Report Listing Issue."
- Someone else claimed your business: contact us right away with proof of ownership, such as a business license or a matching business email.
Free Basic vs. paid upgrades
Basic listings are free and include a live listing, map and search visibility, and a few photos. Pro and Premium plans add more photos, additional truck listings, featured or priority placement, and other tools for vendors who want more exposure. Upgrades are optional; plenty of vendors start with Basic and upgrade when they are ready. Plan details are listed on the Advertise page.
Why it helps beyond GrubScout
Keeping a complete, accurate profile in one place makes it easier to keep every other channel consistent. Many vendors use their GrubScout page as a simple link to share in bios, on flyers, and with event organizers. See where customers are already searching in our Tampa Bay and Orlando guides.
